17th October 2011

As previously notified via the fuel adjustment mechanism, fluctuations of +/- 20% in the average fuel price paid by Associated British Ports for pilot launch operations may result in an adjustment to the pilotage tariff.

The existing fuel adjustment of 1.1% will continue to apply up to and including 31 December 2011.

The average actual price (AP) paid for fuel during the 6 month period ending 30 September 2011 was 51.2 pence per litre (excluding VAT and Duty), representing an additional increase of 20.5% above the BFP of 42.5 pence per litre (excluding VAT and Duty) for the 6 months ending 31 March 2011.

Therefore, following the calculation in the published Fuel Adjustment Mechanism, an upward fuel adjustment of 1.9% will be applied to all pilotage invoices from 1st January 2012.
